Getting started

From a fresh account to your first verified certificate takes about ten minutes. The dashboard checklist walks you through these same steps; here's the fuller version.

1. Add your vendors

Vendors → Add vendor for one at a time, or paste a CSV (one vendor per line: name, contact email, agent email) to import up to 500 at once. The agent email matters more than it looks — the insurance agent is who actually re-issues certificates, and CoverWarden chases them directly at renewal time.

2. Set your compliance requirements

Settings → Compliance requirements. These are the rules every certificate is checked against: required coverages, minimum limits, additional insured, and endorsement requirements (waiver of subrogation, primary & non-contributory). Any vendor can carry an override when a contract demands more — set that on the vendor's page.

3. Get certificates in

Three ways, use any mix:

  • Upload the PDF on the vendor's page.
  • Send the vendor (or their agent) the vendor's upload link — no login needed on their side.
  • Connect your Gmail inbox (Settings → Certificate inbox) and PDFs emailed by known vendors file themselves.

4. Read the verdict

Each certificate is extracted and evaluated in about a minute: every policy row, limits, dates, and the endorsement pages — with quoted evidence for endorsement findings. Non-compliance shows as specific issues in plain language. The dashboard rolls everything up into compliant / needs attention / no certificate.
