Requirements and compliance

Compliance in CoverWarden is deterministic: the AI only transcribes the document; a fixed rules engine compares the transcription to your requirements. Same certificate + same requirements = same verdict, every time.

Org defaults and vendor overrides

Settings → Compliance requirements sets the default for every vendor. When one vendor's contract differs, open the vendor → Requirements and set an override; it replaces the org defaults for that vendor only. Reverting to defaults is one click.

What you can require

  • General liability: required + minimum each-occurrence limit + additional insured.
  • Auto liability: required + minimum combined single limit.
  • Workers compensation: required.
  • Umbrella/excess: required + minimum each-occurrence limit.
  • Endorsements: waiver of subrogation and/or primary & non-contributory — verified on the endorsement pages, not the checkboxes.

How verdicts are computed

Each requirement produces specific issues: missing coverage, limit below minimum, additional insured not indicated, required endorsement not found. Expiry adds two states: expiring soon (within 30 days) and expired. A vendor's status reflects their newest certificate; no certificate at all is its own status so it can't hide as 'compliant by absence'.
